WAGO 260 Series Equivalent: Complete Cross-Reference Guide

Good Electric wago

Why Buyers Look for WAGO 260 Series Equivalents

The WAGO 260 series is a family of push-in cage clamp DIN rail terminal blocks used in control cabinets, PLC panels, HVAC units and industrial automation around the world. Long lead times, rising prices and single-source supply risk push many OEMs, panel builders and distributors to find a qualified second source.

The risk of switching is real: a “compatible” block with the wrong module width, wire range or current rating forces rework across the whole DIN rail. This guide gives you the complete cross-reference, the exact specs behind every model, and a verification checklist — so you can substitute with confidence instead of guesswork.

Quick Answer

Our 260 / 261 / 262 series cage clamp terminal blocks follow the same part numbering as the originals — 260-301 → 260-301, 260-331 → 260-331, 262-331 → 262-331 — with the same 35 mm DIN rail mounting, same module width, same wire range and the same side push-in spring connection. Complete Cross-Reference Table

All six models share the same cage clamp spring technology (no screws, tool-free side push-in wiring), PA66 V0 flame-retardant housing, nickel-plated / tin-plated copper conductor and 35 mm DIN rail mounting.

Model-by-Model Details

260-301 — 2-Wire Feed-Through (FJ5-1.5)

The basic one-in / one-out block for a single circuit: signal lines, sensor loops, single power feeds. 0.08–1.5 mm² solid or flexible wire, no ferrules required, 8 mm wide. If your layout is a simple straight-through run, this is the most economical choice. See full specs and ordering info →

260-331 / 260-334 / 260-337 — 4-Wire Shunt Terminals

Four wiring cavities share one potential: two wires in, two wires out. This is the block that replaces messy branch boxes inside compact cabinets — you parallel up to 4 wires on one terminal. The 260-331 matches the original WAGO 260-331 (4-conductor, 1.5 mm², fixing flange with 3.2 mm hole) in installation size, wiring structure and electrical performance, so it interchanges directly without cabinet redesign. Standard grey; blue (neutral) and yellow-green (earth) available for color-coded circuits. See the 260-331 series →

Not sure whether you need the 2-wire or 4-wire version? See our comparison: Difference Between 260-301 (2-Wire) and 260-331 (4-Wire).

261-301 / 261-331 — The 2.5 mm² Class

When your wires are heavier than 1.5 mm² but the 12 mm power blocks are oversized, the 261 series covers 0.2–2.5 mm² at 15 A. The 261-301 (FJ5-2.5) is the compact 2-wire version; the 261-331 (FJ5A-2.5) adds a mini self-locking structure and combined 4-wire wiring for tighter panel layouts.

262-301 / 262-331 — The 32 A Power Class

For power distribution over 1.5 mm² — inverter circuits, motor feeds, HVAC power — the 262 series handles 0.08–4 mm² (28–12 AWG) at 32 A / 690 V IEC on a 12 mm module. Both models carry an integrated fixing flange (Φ3.2 mm) for dual installation: 35 mm DIN rail or direct panel screw mounting. The 262-301 is the 2-wire feed-through; the 262-331 is the two-in / two-out shunt version. See 262-331 vs 260-331 compared in detail →

260 vs 262: Which Current Class Do You Need?

260 Series (8 mm)262 Series (12 mm)
Wire range0.08–1.5 mm² / 28–16 AWG0.08–4 mm² / 28–12 AWG
Rating18 A / 400 V IEC · 10 A / 300 V UL32 A / 690 V IEC
Best forSignal, sensor and low-current control loopsMedium / heavy current power distribution
Rule of thumbIf any wire in the circuit exceeds 1.5 mm², step up to the 262 class; a generous sizing margin reduces heating. For full calculations see DIN Rail Terminal Block Sizing: How to Calculate Current & Pitch.

Before You Substitute: 5-Point Verification Checklist

  1. Module width & pitch. The replacement must occupy the same DIN rail width per pole (8 mm for 260-class, 12 mm for 262-class) or your spacing, combs and end brackets will not line up.
  2. Wire range. Match both minimum and maximum cross-section — a block rated 0.2–2.5 mm² will not grip a 0.08 mm² sensor wire reliably.
  3. Current & voltage rating. Compare IEC and UL values; they are not the same (e.g. 18 A / 400 V IEC but 10 A / 300 V UL on the 260 class). Match or exceed the original on both systems.
  4. Mounting & flange. Check whether your panel uses the fixing flange (Φ3.2 mm hole) — 260-331 and both 262 models include it, enabling DIN rail or panel screw mounting.
  5. Certifications. Ask for UL, TÜV, CE and RoHS documents for the exact model — not just the series. See UL vs TÜV vs CE Certification for Terminal Blocks for what each mark actually covers.

Then do what professional buyers always do: order samples, test on your actual rail and panel, and validate under load before mass production. We support free samples and full datasheets for every model above — request them here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these interchangeable with WAGO blocks on the same DIN rail?

Yes. The 260/261/262 series use the same 35 mm DIN rail standard and match module widths per model class, so they can be mixed or directly replaced in existing installations without cabinet redesign.

Do they accept stranded wire without ferrules?

Yes. The stainless steel cage spring clamps both solid and multi-strand flexible wire directly — no pre-crimping, no screwdriver, tool-free push-in wiring from the side.

What colors are available?

Standard grey for control circuits; blue for neutral and yellow-green for earth/ground — following international circuit identification practice. Other colors available on OEM orders.

What are MOQ and lead time?

MOQ starts at 100 pcs for stock items with 3–7 day dispatch; OEM / customized orders (colors, markings, packaging) run 10–15 days. Payment by T/T, L/C or Western Union; shipping from Ningbo / Shanghai.

Working temperature range?

−60 °C to +105 °C long-term for the 260 / 262 series (−40 °C to +105 °C for the 261 class) — suitable for outdoor enclosures and high-temperature cabinet interiors.
